About

This project was co produced by Guangzhou Mingdao and Shenzhen SKGPLUS. The creative team integrated local customs, architectural features, historical events, and artistic styles into the story of Bamboo and Hung Kuen. The entire piece consists of seven creative chapters, runs for 450 seconds, and features over 40 visual effects scenes.Working in close collaboration, the team spent four months meticulously refining the project with innovative storytelling and craftsmanship, carefully shaping the experience from perspectives of color, atmosphere, imagery, multisensory design, and narrative flow. The cultural essence of bamboo and Hung Kuen martial arts was intertwined with creative techniques, resulting in an immersive water curtain performance. The work opens with the theme "The birthplace of Hung Kuen, where bamboo forests conceal a hidden world," using water as its canvas, bamboo as its poetic rhythm, and martial arts as its narrative expression. The show recreates the legendary landscapes of Huashanba a century ago, telling the story of the Hung Kuen grandmaster Hong Xiguan, who lived in seclusion while studying widely, ultimately founding his own martial arts school in Huaxian. Through poetic combinations of light, shadow, sound, and color, the piece narrates this cultural heritage in a visually stunning and emotionally resonant way.
