About
The Forgotten Dynasty is a mapping artwork centered on the theme of “the cycle of catastrophe driven by the struggle for fame and fortune.” Through the monumental stage of architectural projection, it seeks to reveal the fate of human civilization, rising and falling under the sway of greed and desire. The overall narrative unfolds like a historical allegory, delivering reflection and warning on human nature through overwhelming visual impact. In the design, the building is given multiple identities: it is both the hall of dynastic glory and the ruins left in the wake of war; both an illusory fairyland and a desolate wasteland. Constantly shifting scenes construct a grand narrative structure, moving from prosperity to destruction, and from destruction to the birth of new hope. Whether it is the blazing flames of battle, the cold solemnity of stone statues, or the mystical brilliance of exotic fantasy, each visual contrast deepens the layers of the story.Visually, the piece emphasizes the resonance between the textures of the building and the projected imagery. Classical colonnades and monumental façades are transformed into a canvas of history, while projection becomes the chisel of time, carving frame by frame the splendor and downfall of civilizations. Through the use of symbols such as fire, ice, chains, swords, and spears, the work strives to create an epic atmosphere beyond reality, immersing the audience in awe while reflecting on the fragility and recurrence behind civilization.Ultimately, The Forgotten Dynasty is more than a visual spectacle; it is also a dialogue of thought. It raises an enduring proposition through art: in the river of time, desire and power may bring fleeting glory, but only reflection and vigilance can serve as the true foundation for the continuity of human civilization. It was for this reason that the piece received the Silver Prize in the Classical Category at the Moscow Light Festival 2019.
