About
This piece titled Bridge of Light was specially created for the China EU Tourism Year and showcased at the Romanian National Theatre as an architectural projection work. Using the theatres unique facade structure as its stage the piece intertwines Eastern and Western architectural motifs within the same frame. On one side stand the solemn and grand European style classical columns and arches while on the other side rise the vividly colored intricately layered Chinese archways and flying eaves. Through constant transitions overlays and fusions of light and shadow it creates a visual dialogue that transcends time and space symbolizing the exchange and mutual learning between Eastern and Western cultures. The work not only highlights the contrasts and allure of different civilizations but also through the interplay of light and shadow allows viewers to vividly feel the tension and harmony of cultural convergence. It is both an imagined bridge and a vision to make tourism a bridge of communication art a language of understanding and together paint a future of diversity and coexistence.
