This artwork was selected as a finalist in the Japan 1 Minute Mapping Competition and exhibited at Meiji Shrine in Tokyo, Japan. Inspired by studies on how stellar systems in the universe may nurture civilizations of different dimensions, the piece seeks to explore the relationship between life, the universe, cosmic civilizations, and human civilization from the perspective of a higher dimensional life form. Strictly speaking, Future Signal is not merely an artwork but a message transmitted to humanity by a higher dimensional being.Using geometric forms and beams of light as symbolic elements, the message tells humanity that change and motion are eternal themes of life, cycles and recurrence are its inevitable destiny, and the universe itself exists in perpetual renewal. From this vast multidimensional perspective of space and time, humanity’s seemingly long history is but a fleeting moment within the Milky Way, small and fragile as dust. Yet within this ever changing, cyclic universe, humanity has ignited the spark of civilization, achieved a magnificent origin and creation, embraced the gifts time has bestowed upon life, and continues to strive toward a harmonious and perfected conclusion.
